What is a seismic bracing support system?
Seismic bracing supports are an anti-seismic support system that protects building mechanical and electrical facilities (pipes, ducts, cable trays, and equipment). During an earthquake, they withstand horizontal forces to prevent pipelines from swaying laterally or falling, ensuring the normal operation of lifeline systems such as fire protection, water supply, and power supply. According to GB50981-2014, mechanical and electrical engineering in buildings located in regions with a seismic fortification intensity of 6 degrees or above must undergo seismic design.
In which situations must seismic bracing and supports be installed?
①Equipment suspended in pipelines with gravity >1.8kN; ②Domestic water supply and fire protection pipelines above DN65; ③Rectangular ducts ≥0.38㎡ or circular ducts with diameter ≥0.7m; ④Electrical conduits with inner diameter ≥60mm and cable trays/busways ≥150N/m; ⑤Gas pipelines with inner diameter ≥25mm; ⑥Smoke extraction and exhaust ducts (mandatory requirement).
